In order to achieve the maximum amount of TARGETED TRAFFIC with minimum cost it is critical that you identify the keywords that users are keying in to find your products and services.
Inevitably, the most popular searched for terms will be those most generic terms that apply to your business. However, these terms DO NOT necessarily represent best value for money in terms of return on capital. This is because the top positions in the search engines under generic terms are occupied either by directory listings (where achieving first page position is a lottery) or by “Sponsor” / pay-per-click type listings where the bidding on clicks does not represent good value for money.
The secret of achieving excellent focused traffic from the search engines is to identify those popular relevant search terms that AVOID the "lemming" effect of directory listings and traditional pay-per-click phrases.
For example, while there are tens of thousands of searches every month for "ringtones" and "logos", to achieve top ranking under these terms in the search engines is either highly unlikely (in the case of directory results) or very expensive in the case of bidding pay-per-click results (with the cost of capturing all that traffic in a year working out at over $250,000 per annum. However, "nokia 3360 ringtones" is searched for over 10,000 times per month and yet we can achieve top ranking for a fraction of the traditional pay-per-click cost due to the absence of directory and sponsor listings.
The way the keyword analysis works is simple but ingenious:
We compile a list of key words (not phrases) relevant to your business.
Our system will then produce from this a list of thousands of search terms using a thesaurus system linked to the search engines.
For each search term there will be specified the number of times
that term has been searched for in the last month in all the major search engines, which in turn represents about 25% of total searches worldwide.
The system will also detail for each search term the number of web sites containing that search term.
Arising from the above there will be detailed for each search term a "value ratio" being the ratio of number of times searched to the number of web sites that contain the term.
The higher the value ratio the better value a search term it is, the principle being that we are looking for search terms that are used frequently and has few web sites as possible actually contain the term.
Finally the system uses a sophisticated algorithm for each search term to determine whether it is possible to achieve a sufficient number of visitors.
You will then receive by email a spreadsheet detailing all of this data and you can manipulate it to suit your particular requirements and narrow the number of terms down to a focused list.
